The Millennium Dome
This is the design model for the National Zone, one small section of the big British millennial project. This was a sturdy, multi-section, 1:25 scale model that was used by the designers for their presentation to government oversight committees.
It was made to a sufficient degree of detail that it was also the primary reference for builders, painters, and prop makers. If you visited Greenwich, England in the year 2000, this probably looks familiar to you.
